Day 1: Salam Aleikum Marokko!

Today you set off on your way to the desert. How did you decide?

Are you taking a domestic flight from Casablanca to Errachidia with Royal Air Maroc? This domestic flight lands in Errachidia daily at approximately 11:59 p.m., so arrival is late at night.

Another option is to fly with Royal Air Maroc from Rabat to Errachidia (every Wednesday and Friday), arriving in Errachidia at around 9:40 a.m.

But no matter which flight you land on, our driver will wait for you and the other participants (please just inform us which domestic flight you are arriving on) and we will go deep into the desert region to the Merzouga oasis (approx. 1.5 – 2 h drive), where the first overnight stay takes place in a traditional Kasbah on the edge of the desert. Day 2: Welcome to the Oussidi family

We start the day with breakfast together with a view of the dunes.

In the morning we ride on our camels to our desert camp (also possible as a hike or by vehicle). A deliciously fresh lunch and the Oussidi family, who will look after us during our stay in the desert, await us there. Once we have settled into the camp, we head off for our first yoga session in the desert. Let the desert work its magic on you and immerse yourself in the silence.

After dinner, we say goodbye to the day with a colourful sunset. At the campfire we enjoy the night sky dotted with millions of stars and will perform a fire ritual and a fire meditation to get in the mood for our time in the desert. (B, L, D)

Days 3 to 7: The silence of the desert

The days begin with a tea ceremony in the heart of the desert camp. Afterwards we meet for yoga together with a view of the endless expanse of the desert and then fortify ourselves with a delicious breakfast.

Now the individual time begins. What do you feel like doing? The possibilities are endless. Listen to Barak’s stories about Morocco and the desert. Exchange ideas in the community, read in a shady place, listen to the silence in meditation or enjoy a desert walk to „Barak’s Dune“.

Lunch is heralded by the desert gong and you are spoilt with traditional mountain delicacies. Now it’s your own time again until the evening yoga class. After the yoga class, Barak’s nephews are waiting with drums by the crackling campfire, while dinner is already being prepared in the kitchen. The day ends with a view of the breathtaking starry sky. Day 8: Farewell to the Oussidi family

After morning yoga in the desert, we return to Mer-zouga with the camels. In the village, we take a tour of the oasis. The Oussidi family will treat us to a traditional Berber meal in their home. Afterwards, we visit the children’s project founded by Barak Oussidi and a Berber co-operative that offers traditional handicrafts.

In the afternoon we practise yoga together for the last time, dinner and overnight stay in the Kasbah. (B, D)

Day 9: Goodbye Sahara

For those travelling by plane, it’s off to Errachidia airport early in the morning. You will experience one last spectacular sunrise and the panorama of the palm gardens.

We will take the bus travellers to the bus stop in Merzouga. (D)
